Tomorrow after school we will rehearse for Anne Frank from 3:30 to 7 PM. No dinner will be provided at this rehearsal. Please bring a snack, if needed.
To prepare for tomorrow’s rehearsal and for this weekend, please make sure the following tasks get completed:
1. Make sure ALL props are present at rehearsal
2. All Costume Items are in order
3. ALL LINES ARE MEMORIZED
4. Pack costume essentials like shoes, undershirts, socks, etc.
5. Pack any makeup you will want to use. WE WILL BRING THE GHS MAKEUP KIT, but you are responsible for bringing your own makeup.
Agenda for Tomorrow’s Rehearsal:
3:30 to 3:50: Put on costumes and continue to setup for full-run
3:55 to 4:00: Announcements and updates
4:00 to 5:30: Full Run (We will start earlier if everyone is ready before this time)
5:30 to 6:20: Strike set, pack all props, and costumes
6:20 to 7:00: Load U-Haul (EVERYONE WILL HELP W/ THIS)
We will be loading the U-Haul with costumes, props, and set pieces.
Saturday’s Performance:
I am still unsure about the logistics of setting up for the performance. I have emailed the stage manager and am still waiting for a reply. Once I hear from him, I will forward you his information.
In the meantime, please read the tech runner that is attached to this post. We will review this document on the bus on Friday morning. Pridemore_Tech_Rider_1-16
Due to tomorrow’s snow day, the second performance of Little Mermaid Jr. has been rescheduled to Wednesday, February 3rd at 7 PM. We are unable to reschedule this event at an earlier date for multiple reasons: The Diary of Anne Frank Rehearsal for VA Conference (1/28), VA Thespian State Conference at Radford University (1/29 to 1/31), and the auditorium is booked on the 1st and 2nd.
I sincerely apologize that we cannot make this performance occur any sooner.
To ensure an excellent second performance, a rehearsal will be needed to get the kids back on track. A quick clean-up rehearsal will occur right before the performance from 3:30 to 4:30 PM. Unfortunately, this timeframe conflicts with Music Man auditions. However, I have rearranged the audition schedule so that cast members of the Little Mermaid Jr. audition from the 4:40 to 5:20 timeframe.
We will schedule an open-cast meal from 4:40 to 5:40 PM. This should give all students enough time to eat, audition, and prepare for the show.

I hope you are all enjoying your third snow day.
The Music Man workshop was originally scheduled to be Monday, January 25th. We have decided to reschedule that date to Monday, February 1st; this is the same date as the choreography audition. The rescheduling of the workshop should not impact the other audition dates. Please consult the following schedule, regarding the workshop and audition dates.
Monday, February 1st
3:30 to 3:40 PM: Go over rules and expectations. We will place students into to two audition groups: males and females.
3:40 to 4:00 PM: Males will meet with Mr. Burch in the drama room and females will work with Ms. Watts on music in the choir room.
4:00 to 4:20 PM: Females will meet with Mr. Burch in the drama room and males will work with Ms. Watts on music in the choir room.
4:20 to 4:50/5:00 PM: Ms. Beatty will teach the audition choreography. Students will also have time to practice if there is extra time.
5:00 to 5:25 PM: In groups of 10, students will perform their dance audition.
5:30 to 6:30 PM: 5th Grade Auditions in Mr. Burch’s room.
Tuesday, February 2nd:
Music and acting auditions from 3:40 to 6:00 PM.
Wednesday, February 3rd:
Music and acting auditions from 3:40 to 6:00 PM.
Thursday, February 4th:
Call backs from 3:30 to 5:00 PM.

Good Afternoon!
As of now, the second performance of Little Mermaid Jr. will be held Wednesday, January 27th at 7 PM. If we do not have school on Wednesday, we will reschedule the second performance to the following week.
On a positive note, the cast and crew of Little Mermaid Jr. did a spectacular job last Thursday night. The house was completely packed! We hope to continue our fan support for our second performance.

Come watch the first-ever middle school musical, Little Mermaid Junior. Little Mermaid Jr. is a condensed version of the original Broadway production and is intended for middle school performers.
This production has been a collaboration among a group of seniors that are fulfilling their senior project requirement.
Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for adults. Despite the cold temperature, we will be having the performance tonight.
Tickets will be sold at the ticket booth starting at 6 PM. |

I hope you all had an excellent winter break. As you all know, GHS Drama’s production of The Diary of Anne Frank has been selected as a mainstage production for the VA Thespian State Conference. This is an excellent opportunity for our students to perform this show in front of a huge audience filled with Virginia Thespians.
With that being said, the cast and crew will need to rehearse the show prior to conference. Attached to this post is a copy of the rehearsal schedule.
Conference will be held at Radford University, January 29-31st. The official performance date/time is still to be determined.
